“If my lawyers don’t eat…

…then my business agents don’t eat.” Anthony Rumore, former president (now permanently barred from) Teamsters local 812 in Scarsdale NY. This was what he reportedly told business agents when he withheld their paychecks if he was dissatisfied with the amount of money they had collected from union members to pay for his legal defense against charges that he used the union membership and its officials as “personal servants” to his family. One can understand his frustration, though. These business agents had already been freed up from their regular duties – Rumore had dropped all upcoming arbitration cases to save money. Good riddance.
