House Democrats are expected to bring the bill for a national $15 minimum wage to the floor for a vote in just a few weeks. Confidence that it will pass appears to be high. And when you consider facts like:
- this is the longest America has ever gone without raising the minimum wage,
- more than half of U.S. states have a higher minimum wage than the federal benchmark, and
- the total number of states with $15 minimum wage laws has doubled this year
…it’s hard to imagine the Dems not taking this one. Even if the bill doesn’t pass now, we can expect to continue hearing about a national $15 minimum wage throughout the 2020 election cycle.
