What Others are Saying

ALWAYS succinct, relevant, and impactful. I rely heavily on you to keep me up to the minute in only a few minutes!
L. Pelisari.

This is a very important website. I am a Union worker but an American First and the idea of open/non-private voting is repugnant to me. It flies in the face of American tradition where your vote is and should be CONFIDENTIAL. Most Union employees feel as I do and they need to know what this is all about. As far as I know, I hope, this sort of thing is not happening in the Union to which I belong. If I find out it is I will protest. All I can say is keep up the good work. I will pass this around to everyone I can. They cannot intimidate me.

I have used this site since the Introduction of EFCA. Great info., reliable comments and I have respect for those leading this organization.

Up Next: Occupy Your Job

michael moore 286x300 Up Next: Occupy Your JobFilmmaker and consummate union gasbag Michael Moore is at it again, this time calling on frostbitten Occupy Wall Street protestors to take it indoors this winter and get to unionizing their jobs. ( jobs?? ) And he does so while, in a totally non-capitalist fashion of course, promoting his own video.

“Let’s spend the winter organizing workplaces into unions. OR, if you already have a union, demand that your leaders get off their ass and get aggressive like our grandparents did.” Moore then goes on… and on… to but again invoke the ghosts of the Flint sitdown strike, the irony being Flint is now a burnt out shell with a 27% unemployment rate due largely to unsustainable labor costs and a hostile business environment.

“Here are two good unions to get your fellow workers to sign up and join: UE and SEIU. The CWA are also good,” Moore advises, ever the tireless advocate of worker empowerment and true union democracy.

He then goes on to refer Occupiers to a UE website with step-by-step instructions in union organizing, as explained by a third grader with three crayons. And if your job could be headed overseas? Then, according to Moore, “it’s time to occupy the workplace… you can get a lesson in how to successfully occupy your factory from my movie.” Of course! Moore does not share how a sitdown strike in your workplace would sway your boss not to move your job to Mexico.
