Federal Judge Files Injuction to Block Blacklisting Rule

by | Oct 31, 2016 | News

Last Monday, a Federal Judge filed a preliminary injunction on the DOL’s “blacklisting” rule. This rule would “require federal contractors and subcontractors bidding on jobs of $500,000 or more to publicly report any resolved, pending or alleged violations of 14 labor laws.” Rep. John Kline released the following statement in response to the injunciton.

This decision is good news for workers, employers, and taxpayers. It reaffirms that the administration’s extreme blacklisting regulation is fundamentally flawed and will do more harm than good. The administration has spent significant time and taxpayer resources concocting this regulatory scheme, when they should have been focused on enforcing existing policies designed to hold federal contractors accountable. The best way to ensure fair pay and safe workplaces is to enforce current protections, and in light of this decision, it’s time for the administration to do just that.
